Home

We made it home yesterday. I've never been so glad to see Chris at the bottom of an escalator. I think it had something to do with the cute little six month old who was my constant companion for the previous ten days. And all the luggage I was messing with. I know, I'm a dedicated carry-on kind of girl, but I knew I'd be bringing home lots of treasures (like a smattering of paintball gear for Chris and a bunch of thrifting finds). And just in case I had a hand for each piece of luggage, throw in a car seat. That made it a true circus.

Millie was a champion traveler. Just like every other trip she's been on. (By six months she hit the milestone of 10 states visited + the District of Columbia.) We couldn't walk down a terminal without smiles, coos, or comments flying our way. Mostly about her being a happy baby. In this respect, I think O'Hare is better than Salt Lake City. So many business men in suits turned to mush at that smiling face. People everywhere-- I think that's her idea of heaven. Don't dare to have her face in while being worn. No way.

Millie went to bed last night in her crib without a fuss. She woke minimally during the night (surprising after all the spoiling I did to keep her quiet while sleeping at other people's houses). She woke up at 8, ate and went back to sleep until eleven o'clock!! I think she was glad to be in her own bed, not being yanked out of bed to go do something else. She's got a lot of sleep to catch up on. Which works out nicely, because I have lots of stuff to catch up on, too.

Deidra,

You SAVED me. I hadn't figured that out about apple command. You seriously saved me. I think I need to look up a mac commands cheat sheet on the internet, because commands is basically all I used on my PC.

So glad you are home and I feel worn out just thinking about all your canning. I started canning this year on my own (well with my mom's help, but for our family) and good grief, canning is hard work. I'm still catching up on all the blogs I've missed reading, but had fun catching up on yours when I came out to thank you for SAVING ME!
