Softball

One of our favorite things about DC is Congressional Softball. I've only played twice this summer. I played once, then my knee got messed up. And once it started feeling better, I enjoyed visiting in the "dugout" more than taking to the field. This past week though, I made an appearance. We played further down the Mall than usual, so we took advantage of the scenery for some self-portraits on our walk back to the Metro.
After each game, Coach Nate sends out a game wrap-up/summary. The guys were joking this past week that the only reason they show up is to try to make the highlights. This week, Chris got a lone shout-out. (Usually it is shared by 3-5 people).

MVP:  Chris Hartwell.  Chris pitched 7 strong innings and contributed several hits, but he wrapped up the MVP when he snagged a sharply hit line drive back to the mound "self defense-style" and doubled off the runner at first without mercy.
That's my man!
